Early Absentee Voting Begins September 18th

Any Minnesotan can vote by absentee ballot. Request an absentee ballot online here. For military and overseas voters, request a ballot here. Ballots begin mailing September 18, and the Secretary of State recommends applying by October 20.

Return your ballot by mail:

  • Use the postage-paid envelope that came with your ballot to return it. Overseas voters will need to pay additional postage.

  • Mail the ballot as soon as possible to leave time for postal processing.

  • A ballot returned by mail must be received by 8 p.m. on November 3rd (a postmark is not enough).

  • Within a week of Election Day, consider dropping off your ballot instead.

Drop your ballot:

  • You can drop off your ballot at the early voting locations or, on Election Day, to the office that sent the ballot (no later than 5 p.m.).

  • Someone else can drop off your ballot. They will need to show identification.

If you cannot return your ballot in time, you can vote in person at your assigned polling place using a regular ballot. DO NOT return an absentee ballot to a polling place.

Early In-Person Voting Begins October 16th

New in 2026: To vote early in-person, go to an early voting location, show proof of residence, complete a short certificate, and then receive a ballot. Once you have filled it out, you will insert it into a ballot counter, and you’re done! These are the early voting locations for residents in District 33A:

  • Open 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on October 24 (Sat)

  • Open until 7:00 p.m. on October 27 (Tue)

  • Open 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on October 31 (Sat)

  • Open 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on November 1 (Sun)

  • Open until 5:00 p.m. on November 2 (Mon)

Election Day Voting on November 3rd

Vote in person on Election Day between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.  Find your polling place here. Minnesota allows same-day voter registration. Check whether you are already registered to vote here. See the Secretary of State’s website for complete voting information.
